Our Story

The story of Colony Bank began in 1975 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, when a local farmer found himself unable to secure the funding he needed to grow his business. Turned away by the banks in town, he decided to take action. Over the next few months, he rallied other local business owners and community leaders who shared his vision of creating a different kind of bank. A bank that truly supported the growth of local businesses and the community.

Together, this group of forward-thinking entrepreneurs founded Colony Bank with a mission to enable progress for individuals, families, and businesses alike. What started as one man’s vision has grown into nearly 50 years of service. From day one, Colony Bank has been committed to providing solutions that foster success and support the communities we serve.
