We are proud to announce that Jeffrey Hester, formerly Commercial Banker, Vice President has been promoted to Cordele Market President, and Amber Herrington, formerly Business Banker, has been promoted to the position of Commercial Banker, Vice President.

Commenting on the announcement Bob Evans, Regional President, said, “Over the past five years, Terry Ann Brake and I have been proactive in integrating our succession plan to help prepare Jeffrey and Amber for long-term success in Cordele. During this time, they have both demonstrated remarkable industry experience, knowledge, and commitment to our customers. I am confident they are ready for these new responsibilities and are the perfect choice to continue our growth in the community we all care for and love.”

Jeffrey began his banking career 16 years ago when he joined Colony Bank as a Loan Review Specialist. Shortly after joining, he became a lender and was promoted to his current position as Commercial Banker, Vice President in 2018. Jeffrey holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from Valdosta State University and is a graduate of both the Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s Consumer Lending School and the Georgia Bankers Association’s Georgia Banking School. In addition, he has completed the Locate South Georgia Leads program and Leadership Crisp. His community involvement includes serving as a current board member for several organizations, such as, the Cordele Kiwanis Club, Cordele Main Street, and Cordele Crisp Chamber of Commerce. He previously served as president of the Crisp Area Habitat for Humanity. Jeffrey enjoys golfing, scalloping, relaxing at the beach, and cheering on the Dawgs in his free time.

Amber joined our team in 2010 and has 15 years of banking experience spanning multiple roles including Corporate Banking, Banking Center Manager, Residential Mortgage Lending, Commercial Lending, and most recently as a Business Banker. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Valdosta State University, her Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University, and is currently enrolled in the 2023 class of the Georgia Bankers Association’s Georgia Banking School. Amber is an alumna of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, South Georgia Locate Leads, and Leadership Crisp. Currently, she is the President of the Rotary Club of Cordele, CTAE Advisory Board Member at Crispy County High School, and has served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, Crisp Area Arts Alliance, and other community organizations exemplifying her passion for volunteerism and community partnership. She also makes it a priority to provide financial literacy to our area schools and has been given the designation of “Outstanding Banker” by the Georgia Bankers Association for Financial Literacy.
