Chance Giddens Promoted to Fitzgerald Market President

Colony Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Chance Giddens to Fitzgerald Market President. Giddens will succeed Mike Smith, who retired at the end of December.

Giddens joined Colony Bank in July 2024 as a Commercial Banker and Assistant Vice President, bringing nearly a decade of professional experience across mechanical engineering, project management, and banking. Before joining Colony, he served as City President at Irwin County State Bank, a division of Wilcox County State Bank.

“Since joining Colony Bank, Chance has demonstrated remarkable dedication to his customers and a talent for building meaningful relationships,” said Mike Davis, President of Community Banking. “His leadership and commitment have already made a positive impact on our team and the Fitzgerald community. We’re proud to see him step into this role and look forward to the continued growth and success he will bring to this market.”

Giddens holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and is a 2023 Honor Graduate of the Georgia Bankers Association’s Banking School at the University of Georgia. Originally from Ocilla, Giddens now resides in Fitzgerald with his wife, Mary Claire, and their two children. The family is actively involved with the Central Wesleyan Church of Fitzgerald. In his free time, Giddens enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with his family.
